Angela Huntbach

MA Sculpture, The Royal Collage of Art, London

Author note:
Angela Huntbach is an artist who lives and works in London. Her work is predominantly Sculpture, it involves many media to convey the space of her activity.Huntbach’s work is characterized by a fascination with the things which are outside of the everyday practice of living. Huntbach gives material form, which is often abstract, to the idea of the ephemeral, inaccessible. There is an emphasis on the nature of dynamics, including scientific, sociological, and political. All of these things embody the idea of complexity and changing states of: matter, position or mind. Huntbach is inspired by the things which are fluid and not fixed, which creates a sense of tension within stilled moments. Huntbach often presents a number of these stilled moments together, which interact amongst and alongside each other.

Artist Statement:
My work takes on forms and images which are heavy with a verbally incommunicable tension. A tension and complexity which is both substantial and fragile. This sense of fragility and complexity is reflected in the subjects which my work suggests, and often also the materials that I choose to realize them in.
