Artevisa July- August 2005 For two months Loguivy de la Mer was the site for a group show of seven UK based women artists. Located three miles from Paimpol, C ôtes d’Armor, Loguivy de la Mer is a small village on the Brittany coast in France. The show brought a brand of visual art rarely, if ever encountered in such a seaside village location, with the artists work displaced in more surprising settings for example, within the Post Office, the Pharmacy and other locations as well as in the more traditional setting of the village hall. This exhibition gathered together various Fine Art practices, drawing, video, performance, photography, digital print, sculpture, site specific sound and light installation therefore producing a dynamic visual dialogue between artworks and spaces.
Elevation An installation responding to qualities of space and light. Human presence, the passage of time, memory, and transformation are some of the experiences explored within an architectural setting. >>>More
